Frozen Charlotte dolls were produced during the 1800’s to represent the moral of a poem. The poem describes a women refusing to wear her shawl during a sleigh ride which resulted in her freezing to death. The manufacturing company that produced these porcelain dolls
would bury the broken or defective doll parts on their property.
