Inspiration
This collection is dedicated to the 'Box Pleat'. Historically used in the Scottish Kilt; a traditional skirt worn by men and boys of various tribes and clans in Scotland, dating back to the late 16th Century. Each piece incorporates box pleats or darts (featured on the 'sporran' - pouch/pocket on front of kilt) as a stylistic and also functional feature. Function to create the expansion of each bag as each pleat open up, the user gains more accessibility. All pieces are handmade in my North London studio.
Description
This large cross body bag is inspired by the 'Sporran' part of the kilt which was often made of embossed leather and fur (I have replaced with suede). The innovative design of the Scoop is unlike many cross body bags. The top zip opens into two compartments; a large main space with a zip pocket and also the structured 'turtle shell' front compartment. Adjustable shoulder strap allows the wearer to control the usability. Delivered in a branded organic dust bag.
