Zürich/Buenos Aires, Switzerland
Roque the gentleman that has given us his name, disembarked in La Boca, the habour of Buenos Aires in the year 1882. Along with many Italian compatriots he had left his small village heading for the new world. He soon came to be known as an excellent shoemaker and when Argentina's economy entered its "Golden Years", Roque's business also began to grow and he started to manufacture leather travel bags.
It is this same spirit of adventure, a love for travel and a deep admiration for pioneers that inspired us, an Argentine and a Swiss, to leave familiar waters and take on a new journey designing and manufacturing leather bags in the Argentine capital. Our bags, inspired by the wonderful vintage leather goods of yesteryear, have a modern flair and functionality. All Roque products are hand made from the best Argentine Leather and are fashioned to be lifelong companions. We design from our Palermo studio and handpick the materials all over Buenos Aires. To guarantee premium quality, we personally oversee the production process, including making the first prototypes ourselves. Traditional Argentine craftsmen manufacture with us our pieces and we collaborate with a small team of excellent artisans honoring their expertise. We don't believe in chasing cheap labour around the globe, therefore all our products are absolutely sweatshop free! Roque thinks that success should be shared with the less fortunate. With this idea in mind a part of the proceeds of your purchase will be donated to carefully chosen Argentine NGOs.**Roque loves Argentina and is proud to support local industries.**Read less
