Renaissance Life is a Swedish, London-based brand that creates luxury unique amulets, each named after a year with a meaning. The inspiration comes from magic, dreams and illusions and our endless possibilities.The brand launches two new collections each year, which currently are available in around 100 selected stockists in Europe, North America, Middle East, Asia and Australia. During 2011/2012 the brand will show at Fashion weeks in Paris, London and New York.
Where the story begins....
"Renaissance Life was born out of a passion to turn my grandmother Maj's stories in to reality. " Linnea says.
Growing up, Maj told Linnea fascinating stories about life, values, and Swedish truths. She once showed her a wooden object and said, “This wooden jewellery box your great-great-grandfather made by hand more than 130 years ago…” I admired the piece she held in her hand with amazement. It looked like an old Renaissance book, with delicate gold corners and an inscription on the back of the lid saying “Year 1854”. Through the half open lid, she could glimpse beautiful brooches, gold pendants and pearl necklaces - all with a special memory and a story to tell.
Even though nobody realised it back then, the first fragments of Renaissance Life took shape. More than 20 years later, still at University in Gothenburg, Linnea had an idea and launched Renaissance Life.
Renaissance Life makes symbolic pieces with love that are all named after a different year. Each has a story to tell in the same way my grandmother Maj’s jewellery did. The meanings behind the collections are taken from Swedish sayings, the past, present and the future, together with dreams, time and illusion. Renaissance launches two new collections each year reflecting on our life on earth and our own possibilities.
