Orno, the Latin root of the word ornament, is to decorate, honor, or distinguish. Carla Smiley founded Orno Jewelry in 2006, launching her first collection at the Society of the Technological Arts in Montreal. Consistent with her background in architecture, the collection draws inspiration from the elaborate geometrical patterns found in Moorish architecture.
