The bag is lovely and true to the picture except I had to rub it down with beeswax to achieve the shiny, tanned look. It was dull and almost too 'new' looking. It is beautifully made.
London, United Kingdom
Nette’ is a company created by me, Californian-turned-Londoner, Johnette’ Taylor. I have created a personal and beautifully made collection of leather goods and small accessories inspired by my love of old fashioned satchels and luggage. As a child I was sent off to summer arts camps, where I was exposed to a daily dose of tie-dying, paper mache and patchwork. These intense craft sessions helped to nurture my love for making and designing.
I was also a sucker for education and went on to complete two degrees, with qualifications in Womenswear (FIDM in Los Angeles) and leather accessories (LCF in London). With these degrees under my belt I decided to take my knowledge and gain more hands-on experience in the fashion industry. This led me to work for Browns boutique in London's West End, several small accessory designers, and I have also assisted the fashion editor at Flaunt Magazine in Los Angeles. My ceaseless curiosity has often led me to dissect second-hand luggage to figure out how it's constructed. With this inquisitive approach to designing and a keen eye for detail, my business ethos was born; offering old-fashioned quality with a modern twist. My product range includes i-pad cases, purses, bike bags, and many other accessories. Nette’ began in 2010 with support from the Prince’s Trust. As of September 2011 I gained a studio space at Cockpit Arts; a business incubator for designer-makers in the heart of London. Being a part of Cockpit Arts has given Nette’ a home, and the room for me to flourish alongside other designer makers. My collection is made with care, using quality leathers and fittings from local suppliers. Nette’ leather goods are modern classics that offer you quality products that improve with age.
