The Story

Ghanaian born Amma Gyan first launched 'Me' in 2003 with her classic, high waisted Bella belt. The belt was a huge success and was featured in magazines from Harpers Bazaar to OK Magazine. The key element of this belt was femininity, women felt sexy in them, which made them feel confident and beautiful this was something Amma was to focus on for the next two season with the Frankie and Lilly belts.

In 2005 Amma decided to broaden the collection to include bags for all occasions with the same ethos as the belts, feminine and beautiful with a touch of the classics reinvented. The Little Lady Bag was one of the first designs from this collection and has remained popular ever since.
The simple lines, shape and size has lead to this bag often being referred to as "the perfect bag".2008 saw Amma embark on a new adventure. In search of inspiration or what she likes to call her 'mojo' Amma sort new ways to work with leather. Molding leather was a technique that she came across and instantly saw the potential it held with a little touch of 'Me'. From the first moments of training with MacGregor and Micheal she was hooked. Amma's application of this traditional craft skill has gained her recognition from respected industry professionals such as Anya Hindmarch who is a fan of the Ivy pendant. Amma has since designed for fashion shoots and artists and has recently been commissioned by the Museum of Leathercraft to design a piece for it's permanent display.
Amma followed her ambition, determined to do things her way, this is what she believes in and is the focus for her brand 'Me'.wear me, be you
