K Rothwell is my new design led fine jewellery brand based in London, created and run by myself, Karen Rothwell. Working in silver I mix traditional hand craftsmanship with a modern design aesthetic. I offer pieces that are perfectly unique and a wonder to wear.I use my technical silversmithing skills to inform my exploration of innovative techniques and discovery of the limits of new materials.
Combining this with expertise in conventional jewellery methods I create unique and exciting design solutions which bring my pieces into a new dimension of exclusive and bespoke jewellery collections.My own natural curiosity and enthusiasm for the subject, combined with my passion for travel and world cultures inspires me to look at a wide range of jewellery techniques and designs. Bringing them back to London I combine traditional with contemporary, forming exciting new creative opportunities in the jewellery market.My latest work The Tutaonana Collection exhibits my skill in the technique of mokume gane and exploration of bark cloth, a new material imported from Uganda.
