Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Two extremely famous and talented artists, an intense marriage (2 actually, they divorced and got re-married) with lovers and affairs. He has referred to her art as "acid and tender / hard as steel and fine as a butterfly's wing / Loveable as a smile and as cruel as the bitterness of life".
I think its the truest thing to understand about a woman. She can be as acidic as she is tender.
