The Story

Glenda López is a young jewelry designer from Spain. Her career began in 2002, when she began designing and selling her own jewelry to shops and private clients. From 2005 to 2008, she studied Jewelry Design and Product Development at Consorcio Escuela de Joyería de Cordoba. She learned jewelry-making techniques from great professionals, craftsmen and designers, discovered her abilities and created her own style.

At the same time, she continued working in a fashion brand as an accessories designer, participating in national and international fashion shows (SIMOF, SIMM, Prêt à Porter Paris). She also continued making and selling her own collection of accessories to stores and private clients. Meanwhile, she was developing as a jewelry designer. Glenda began studying at the School of Art and Design in Valencia, specializing in Artistic Jewelry, where she learned more about new concepts and a contemporary vision of jewelry, as well as a new artistic language. This was a period of personal and professional changes. At the start of course, she was hired by a jewelry company to manage the workshop and design jewelry. She returned to her studies one more time before leaving school to undertake her professional project. In July 2010, she created her jewelry design studio-workshop. In this place, Glenda coordinates and manages the development of her collections: sarcastic and funny jewelry designed with a new language. Glenda’s collections are unique and exclusive, and many of her pieces are limited editions, with an ironic taste and a funny language. She works with as many varied visual elements as possible, from the most delicate flower or animal to the coldness and aggressiveness of mechanical objects and robots and the creation of cubes and other geometric shapes. Glenda López attempts to innovate the preconceived ideas about contemporary jewelry and bring them to an alternative public: people who consider jewelry as a special element of their look, but still need affordable pieces. She does all this without giving up the quality typical of handmade jewelry with great attention to detail.
