How would you describe your personal style?

This is a tough question! I just seem to know what pieces I like when I see them. I like to be comfortable but I do like to combine different elements, which don’t necessarily seem to go together.

How would you describe the style in your city?

I would say just about anything goes in LA; rules just seem to go out of the window.

How are you influenced by the style around you in your designs?

I think a good designer is a sponge that will naturally absorb what she sees. I think I probably subconsciously pick up on trends.

How would you describe your personal style?

Smart, casual, preppy, modern, eye-catching, unique twist, sexy, experimental - always trying something new.

How does your style influence your designs?

I create leather accessories that fit with my personal style: unique, eye catching/head turning, something that makes people have a reaction about it, comment or like it. Something which is unique.

How are you influenced by the style around you in your designs?

I’m inspired by how people wear their bags, the colours of their choice of outfit and the colour of their leather bags. I love taking photos of people wearing their bags as they go about their day to day.
I photograph a woman and her leather bag on the tube, taking inspiration for the colour of leather and choice of outfit. I photograph a guy in the city with his leather vintage satchel and his sharp city office look.

I like seeing how people put together their outfits and it’s inspiring to see what they come up with.

What is it about your city that you love?

The contrast between the styles of clothes people wear in the streets of London. In the financial area around Spitalfields you can see office workers wearing suits/smart wear. Yet a stone’s throw away at Bricklane/Shoreditch you can see are creative people wearing vintage and creating their own styles. I like the idea that corporate office workers would not be taken seriously if they wore the outfits creatives wear, and a creative person wearing corporate office wear could be seen as too rigid/corporate by his friends. And yet they live and work in the same area of London.

How would you describe your personal style?

Rock, chic with a mix of originality. One day I can dress in boho chic, the next in rock and roll followed by smart chic, I am a total mixture of trends! As I don’t often throw out my clothes or accessories, I have a very big dressing room so I can pick up a new style every day as if I was in a shop!

How are you influenced by the style around you in your designs?

I can pick up some details of street looks, a shape, a color mix, and a pattern… But I’m more influenced by architecture, design and art exhibitions.

What is it about your city that you love?

- Eiffel Tower because she’s as elegant as any Parisian woman, she’s both strong and delicate.

- Grand Palais has the most magnificent glass roof: I feel like in a magical whirl when I look at it.

- La Defense with its high glass buildings, huge metallic structures and all lights reflections.

- Parisian stylists like JeanPaul Gaultier, Anne Valérie Hash, Karl Lagerfeld, Nicolas Ghesquière and Yves Saint Laurent; they dare but always in a chic way.

How would you describe your personal style?

I like styles that are subtle but with details. But at times, I also like to mix and match something simple with something colorful and patterns. Seasons and weather can change my style a lot. And once in a while, I like something very different to surprise myself.

How does your style influence your designs?

When I design Artessorio collections, I always think of designing a bag that will fit my outfit in certain occasion. Say, there are times that I want to wear a flora dress, then I will need a bag that has more subtle color but with some elegant details. That's how I designed the attitude clutch bag. It has a specially designed pattern embroidered on the creamy white leather.

What is about your city that you love?

It has been 10 years since I moved away from Hong Kong to live in Europe. But Hong Kong is always a city I love. I like the mix and match style there. You can find skyscrapers just next to a old-style temple. You will find a lot of street-styled vendors next to something very luxurious. There are many different cultures but they just perfectly blend into each other and this always gives me a different perspective to look at things.

How would you describe the style in your city?

Again, I find that there is a lot of varieties and colors in the city. It is difficult to say a typical style from there and I think that's also the beauty of it.
