Anne Selby’s creations are voluminous, enthralling works
of art. Her boas, wraps and shawls feature layers and
countless pleats adorned with rich, hand-painted colors.
Each is completely unique and the results are often
unexpected: “It is that combination of the planned and
controlled process with the surprise ingredient that makes
my work exciting – and sometimes frustrating,” Anne
says. Her inspiration? “Repeat organic lines and patterns
and sculptural shapes – we see them in nature.” Every
creation resembles flowers in full bloom.

With layers of light and heavy chains and glittering gems,
ELYONA’s jewelry is all about opulence. Each piece is very
modern and wearable, but features nods to the past – Leona
designed with aestheticists like Oscar Wilde in mind. “My
inspirations are history, architecture [and] the Bible, which is a
great source of history, forms and concepts,” Leona says. “I
believe all these interests are continuously building in me and
my Korean background.” Gold-plated lace and an array of
gems – who could ask for more?

“Poupée Couture began as a bit of a parody of how the Arab
woman’s behavior is controlled by societal expectations,”
designer Roula Ghalayini has said of her handbag line. Though
she is inspired by her travels to places like Istanbul and Hong Kong, Roula says women are her true muses. “I am also
inspired by the behavior and general characteristics of women,”
Roula says. “The infinite layers to their personality and how they
pick and choose to show their various sides.”

“We feel very proud of the place where we were born,”
Catalina and Rodrigo, Tosca’s designers, say of Mexico, their
source of inspiration. Their stunning, hand-carved jewelry
reflects Mexico’s colorful landscape and culture. “The ground
under our feet is full of fanciful shapes and wonderful colors.”
They are so in love with this landscape, they want to see it
worn. “We love to imagine how it would be to pick up a rock
and wear it with your best outfit.”
