Designer interview

EMBAWO

EMBAWO designer Norbert Oettl moved to Milan to pursue a modeling career, but ended up finding his way back to carpentry, his first love. Norbert devised a way to use his fashion industry experience to bring his old and new worlds together. He began using wood to design handbags in unique shapes with unusual designs. EMBAWO bags are sleek and original, made with locally sourced wood from Italian olive and apply trees and surprisingly, are light as a feather. Each bag incorporates the brand’s signature wood panels, but the varying grains give each one a completely different appearance. While Norbert loves designing bags, this is not where the EMBAWO story ends: Eyeglasses, more furniture and homewards may all be in his future. Be among the first to discover this unique brand.
