EMBAWO is the new brand of stylish handbags coming from Brixen (Italy). I am Norbert Oettl and I created it when I started to work as a model in Milan. My idea was to keep and not to abandon my first passion: wood carving... That's how I decided to create something totally new: matching wood handcraft and fashion.
The material for my creations is wood but my style is not ethnic, I love instead classy forms and my creations are extremely elegant, charmant and surprisingly light.
Lately I distinguished two different lines of my creations: the "chic line" where wood is the structure itself of the handbag and the "easy line" where the wood is inserted in the leather structure of the handbag.
The name EMBAWO was suggested by a friend of mine after he came back from Africa. In fact "embawo" means simply “wood†in Uganda’s language….
For the new collection I am presenting a set of exclusive models, a number for women and two for men, produced in different wood essences and colors. Hope you enjoy them and if you decide to have one... tell me what you think about it... I am interested in your opinion. As I said, the bags I propose to you, are surprisingly light... in fact their weight is between 400 and 600 grams... and, of course they are handmade.I think that wood is a beautiful and modern material and… it gives sensations of warmth and pleasantness... my intent is to add to these natural characteristics some surprising classy shapes…round and smooth.Every handbag is a UNIQUE piece…a, an authentic masterpiece MADE in ITALY.
