Inspiration
Legends tell us aquamarine is the treasure of mermaids having the power to keep sailors safe. Its' virtues are particularly strong when immersed in water.
Otherwise it is said to have a soothing influence on married couples. The ancient
Romans believed that the Aquamarine was sacred to Neptune, the god of the sea, having fallen from the jewel boxes of sirens and washed onto shore. Early sailors wore aquamarine talismans, engraved with the likeness of Neptune, as protection against dangers at sea.
Aquamarine is one of the birthstones for March. It gives the courage to spell out the truth, the serenity to express it in a reasonable manner and the compassion to make it a positive experience.
The pearls’ mythical origin roots to sea also as the Ancient Greeks believed that pearls were the hardened tears of joy that the goddess Venus shook from her eyes as she was born from the sea. They also believed that wearing pearls would promote harmony in a marriage and prevent newlyweds from shedding tears.
