Oxidisation is a patina that turns silver grey or black. It is not a permanent treatment and can wear off where the jewel will be “rubbed”.
Wherever the metal will be burnishing off, the colour of the jewel will revert back to silver, which will give highlights and personality to the jewel, reflecting the wearer habits over time, especially in the case of rings. The areas recessed in the jewel will remain darker, giving the jewel an “antique” look.
