Paris, France
Halfway between accessories and ready-to-wear, my collection mostly focuses on hand work as a textile designer. I like contrasting inspirations mixing my country of origin, Botswana, Africa its shimmering colors and chaotic structures, with the European rigidity and minimalism I grew up in.
The dying traditions of ancient Africa, fabrics, storytelling and ceremonies along with souvenirs and vivid mental images retained on travels are sources of inspiration.
Each piece in the collection is produced by hand; the designs are hand painted onto luxurious 100% silk or wool/silk blends, in a technique that looks like a modern edgy version of tie and dye. The addition of sumptuous complementary fringing and translucent beading add an extra shot of glamour.
