This week, we’re celebrating inspiring women, so we thought we’d introduce you to Astrid Zweynert. You may not know her name, but you’re certainly familiar with her work. Astrid is the deputy editor of AlertNet and TrustLaw both websites of the Thomson Reuters Foundation, the charitable arm of Thomson Reuters. She has built a career in responsible journalism, and in her current role, she has the opportunity to put humanitarian issues and women’s rights at the top of the news agenda. As the deputy editor of AlertNet and TrustLaw, Astrid oversees the creation and publication of news stories. She has spent nearly two decades with Reuters News, and in this time, she has covered a wide range of stories, ranging from economic news to humanitarian issues, and she has worked with journalists from around the world to bring to light everything from the fallout of the Arab Spring to how communities cope with major disasters. Astrid’s dedication to covering humanitarian issues inspires us all.
