Another week, another influx of creative and unique designers.
Noémiah

Montreal-based jewelry designer Noémie Vaillancourt is in the midst of a love affair with feathers. Her Noémiah line combines fragile feathers with tougher materials like brass and enamel to create gorgeous contrasts. The delicate feathers are sliced and shaped to create various effects – ostrich feathers are ribbon-like on her Giraffe Feather Bib necklace and sharp in her Asymmetrical Arrowhead earrings. Her Feux Follets collection features feathers, stones and tiny mirrors, which bring each piece to life.
Liucia Japan

Liucia Japan is a partnership, a literal marriage of Eastern and Western styles. Toronto-born designer Alycia says her Japanese husband is her “sounding board:” They work on this modern brand together. Liucia clutches are made with colorful obi silk, cut carefully to highlight the various colors and prints. The line also features hand-painted bags and wallets with stunning color combinations. “Each bag and accessory should enhance the lifestyle of the customer in some small way,” the designers say, and we certainly agree.
Jack Germain

New York-based designer Jack Germain was still making bags in her Lower East Side apartment when her pieces caught the eye of a New York Times blogger. Jack updates classic shapes with tactile details such as embossed studs and laser cut leather. Each Jack Germain bag is designed to go everywhere with you. As Jack says, “A bag is like a woman’s sidekick. My whole theme is that your bag lives the life that you live.”
