Sikara’s Inspiration from Travels in India

Given this week’s theme of spiritually-inspired accessories from far away lands such as India, Tibet and the Orient, we thought it would be quite timely to share with you the inspirations behind Sikara’s latest collection.

Designer Mousumi Shaw recently traveled to India in search of inspiration and found it in the country’s architecture, people and food. The photos below show how her travels to the Land of the Tiger influenced her new pieces.

Mousumi rode camels through the deserts of Jaisalamer in Rajasthan and was mesmerized by the footprints created in the patterns of the desert.

 

While visiting her mother's home town of Chandernagore in West Bengal, she was inspired by the patterns of the boat of this fisherman.
