A few days ago, we received an email from jewelry designer Gabriela Ramirez Michel. “I had a dream,” Gabriela told us, before sharing her new idea. We want to help her make her dream a reality, but first, we need your help.
Gabriela designs and makes jewelry in her native Mexico, near an indigenous population called the Huichol artisans. “They are real artists in beading techniques,” Gabriela says. “Mother Nature gave them that gift.” The Huicholes live in very poor conditions, so Gabriela set up an organization called Chaman to help them hone their talents and distribute their extraordinary work. But Gabriela dreams of doing more for this community. She is also going to use 10 percent of the funds from her sales to purchase food, medicine and other much-needed supplies for the Huicholes.
Now, Gabriela will continue to share their talents while also using funds from her sales to help them build better lives. Shop Gabriela Ramirez Michel jewelry and support this designer’s noble project.
