I was born in Milan in 1985. Coming from an artistic background, I studied fashion design at Istituto Marangoni in Milan before I moved to London to reach my goal of landing new experiences in the fashion scene. For two years I lived and worked in the East part of the city, the heart of creativity and culture. After this venture I moved back to Milan, where I am now based, ready to make the dream of running my own label come true.
AtelierCarlottaSadino began to take shape during the summer of 2011, a period of transition between the personal resolve of a successfully completed experience abroad and the unknown of a new route to be explored. It is in the evocative atmosphere of summer holidays at the house in Pallanza, an ancient village of Roman origin, which led the idea of setting up an atelier dedicated to creating unique and timeless headpieces, blending craftsmanship and design, tradition and experimentation.

Every piece of my collections has been fully made by myself. The act of creation is the most important and inspiring part of my work, I never know how the design will exactly turn out until the end of my process. I like working with fabrics as if they were some kind of modelling clay, to create unique and versatile volumes. In a market crowded by industrial giants I chose self-production because my creations are intended for use and not for consumption. People who’ve been wearing my hats say they actually have a soul..
We’ve found ourselves wondering what Carlotta Sadino would think if we turned up at her studio, and asked to stay. After all, her at-home studio, situated in an airy room in her family’s holiday home…
