Hand-woven by Buddhist nuns with 100% Eri silk. The yarn originates from the silk worm farm of an NGO on a mission to educating ‘Hill Tribes’ children. These cuddly soft mauve scarves on a purple & pink warp follow a traditional mudyom yarn tie-dye pattern. They are adorned inconspicuously with powerful 4 mm Amethyst crystals and embroidered with the word 'Wisdom'.
These artisanal works of art comprise a weft (horizontal weave) of hand-spun Eri silk – also known as Ahimsa or peace silk, as long as the moth escapes the cocoon alive – and a warp (vertical weave) of Mulberry silk threads; all dyes are botanical in nature. The warps are (often) contrasting 2-tone colours complimented by and Eri silk weft in uni-colour or simple mudyom pattern.
