The Story

Andrea Valentini began designing lifestyle bags and jewelry in 2007. Andrea, a successful interior architect, developed furniture and furnishings from unconventional materials, which inspired her to create her own signature textiles. Her first textile, the ‘bump’, was inspired by egg crate foam. When New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) asked Andrea to design a computer bag in her signature ‘bump’ fabric, a new venture was born.

Andrea used her signature textile to launch her first collection of lifestyle bags for women and men. Less than five years after launching her first collection, Valentini has cultivated an iconic up-and-coming American brand.Andrea Valentini now creates versatile, durable lifestyle bags with a sophisticated edge and jewelry that complements the same essence. She transformed her industrial ‘bump’ fabric into useable art for everyday living and has since created several other textural fabrics. Valentini’s fabrics are handmade in Rhode Island and her northeastern manufacturers take great pride in the quality and long lifespan of her products. The defining spirit of the Andrea Valentini brand is quality, style, sustainability, and innovation.
BUMP MATERIAL
Is a custom textile developed exclusively for and by Andrea Valentini. Bump is tactile, soft, lightweight, water and stain resistant, foam-based, molded fabric. The molding process makes each variation of the bump textile unique. Therefore, each texture represents its own character when constructed into its final form."Having always felt that one needs to balance innovation with style, I sought to create a material for my bags that would be protective, lightweight, and durable, yet rich and sensual. It's all about moments of texture"
